Difference between lack of hesitation and confidence...it took me 22 years to realize ..or is it more than that...I am a raw person...still after getiing the best of education since 6 years.....I should think before speaking..something i believe is my strenth..wow..I screwed up my ppt bug time...but does it matter..At other times I thought it wouldn't have mattered.. But it does..I t speaks a lot about me..coz these situations do speak..may b I am making a big deal out out of it..but thats much better than ignoring it ...I have many examples....it sounds very cool to say that its okay to goof up interviews..but it does hurt a lot...especially when u never expected it to b screwed up...i wont screw up nxt time..post 3 hrs...just read th chetan bhagat speech...is an inspiration but no substitute by workds from someone who have gone..I myslef have gone through a lot of failures but the immunity never comes..at least not perfectly..at least not for me..I said yesterday I have overcome the stage phobia..but have I..I could not relate to the question which was asked...God damn it....Why should I give it so much importance..coz its not about the job...u will anyway get a better one..but the screw up should teach..has it taught? ..Yes definitely..i have bee thining of it..what more? more to come

Sachin is God???

Lest the whole idea goes wring, let me clarify two things. I am sure this will not qualify for The World's Best Page, nor do I aspire for one though I would love it. Secondly nothing written discounts the batting skills of a man called Sachin Tendulkar who is no doubt a genius player of the game we all have come to consider what the Dawkinists would abhor.
I am sure the question mark in the title had made you read this. We dont give a damn about the content as long as something is not out of boz as they say.
I am here to take out a milder version of frustration you can say. Considering Sachin is God assumes two things:
1.God exists. or they say it does since the fans are mostly too unintelligent to compare human with an abstract idea. This assumption puts an end to all the debates which go for entertainment or for money or for something else. whatever that is.
2.Even if it does exist, a human who had carried out the same process of reproduction which more than half the trillion of us do, is no less than a superhuman who had been given the token of acceptance by just the fact a mortal on one of the planets hit 200 units of a game within the span of 240 minutes.

The goddamn fools will never understand all it takes to make a GOD. Exist or not, we all have a contribution towards making him (or was it her!!).

Old songs

Arguably the best thing about India is its old songs. Just takes you on a different level. Doesnt matter whether your boss had the balls to call you disorganized, or u had a really bad day to the extent that every small thing pisses u off. And the romance of it. Doesnt matter in which genre the song is really classified, every single song has its bit of romance. From Rafi to Kishore Kumar, it is but a matter of voice differentiation.

Banking

First of all, there are too many qualitative differences between conventional and Islamic mode of finance to conclude that they share the risks. Conventional finance seeks to eliminate risks, one of the reasons the crisis struck.Let me explain. Banks essentially transferred their credit risks to insurers and pension funds by securitizations. That is unwise from ecoonmic welfare viewpoint because can best afford to bear credit risks because they originate the credit. Insurers and Pension funds can best afford the liquidity risks since they have long term sources of finance. Hence banks can ill afford to transfer credit risks. On the other hand, the Islamic model does exactly that.The model is dependent on bearing of risks. The essential idea is to consider the purpose of funds and not the credit wothiness of borrowers in the market. Dubai model essnetially collated the two modes of financing .There are loopholes, as the example of refrigerators conveys. However that is more due to the lack of single advisory body. Different banks have different Sharia advisory boards. Moreover they share the scholars due to dearth of these scholars.There needs to more research into it than dubbing it as just another mode.

IPL controversy..

At the outset, let me warn you that the title is a misnomer. I am not here to add to the trivia. There are too many experts to comment and analyse on the issue. I am here to comment on what is going to follow. In short I am trying to be a soothsayer. The beautiful thing about Indian media is its balance of predictability and unpredictability. Predictability in the results and unpredictability in the events. The IPL controversy will lead to expel of Lalit Modi with no consequences to IPL. No more ministers are to follow Tharoor and the 'buck' stops there.

Bangalore...

If there is one place that can serve to be a lesson in administration, I strongly feel it is Bangalore. Just 4 days of residence in this city has made me love this more than 4 years of staying in Delhi did. And work life seems to be very exciting. True that you have to sit through ordeals, be it boredom or work, but it is truly a learning experience for all the freshers.

Sachin vs Mamata

24 february,2010 seems to be a big day for the country for its multi fold character. A) One of its Sons aka God achieved what no one before him had and B) The railway budget was announced.

And there is a sound reason behind why I chose the order of the facts as I did. Not only because it is politically correct to do so ( My freinds would have killed me if I have not stated the 'God' before) but also because thats the order every voice of media chooses. A personal observation: Out of 12 national newspapers available in MDI library, 8 featured Sachin's achievement in the top half of the front page, inarguably the first portion we see in a newspaper. It has come to this that a personal feat of an Indian cricketer, which is essentially who Sachin is despite all the immortalizations, precedes India's second most annual statement, i.e. the railway budget. It pains to see that. Though the fad of immortalisation is understood considering the religious status given to the game of cricket, the incident indeed speaks of the level of intellectual development we as a country have achieved in the last 63 odd years. While the budget affects us every day of the upcoming year, the emotive moment has overwhelmed the importance it and has succeded in sending the news to the back pages. So much so that the most widely read BUSINESS newspaper Economic Times too followed the herd and put Sachin above Mamata. Speaks well of the future!!
